We took this cruise to try Oceania. We had heard so many good things about it. Turns out we had a slightly different experience.
Starting at the very beginning we had a number of small problems and a few big ones. We found out we really do like the bigger cruise ships with many more activities, restaurants and
entertainment options.
Problems included:
- Promised "Priority Boarding" - turns out everyone had it. We stood in line for 25 minutes to board
- Promised "Free WiFi" - Only includes one login per cabin to the slow level. To add a second login to the slow internet it was $24.99 per day.
- Our Concierge Veranda cabin was very small. The bathroom and shower were absolutely miniscule. If we ever go again on a small Oceania the Penthouse suite is very nice.
- Promised "Complimentary Logo Tote Bag" - When we asked they said none on board.
- The bartender in Martinis made terrible Martinis. Fortunately the lady at the Horizons bar was very good.
- We had all those sea days with very little to do. Sea day morning activities Needlepoint, Salsa dance lessons, Golf putting
- Overall the food was very good. However there were a few clunkers especially at the buffet.
- Since the ship was small, just 680 passengers, the buffet was small with a limited selection.
